This tri camp includes swim/bike/run coaching, primitive cabin accommodations, home cooked meals, and sag support for designated bike rides.  You’ll have the option to stay at group camp after workouts to exchange war stories by the campfire.  Plus, you don’t need to lift a finger after a hard day of training.  We’ve got it all covered.

Underwater Swim Video Analysis

This analysis will provide a visual aid and feedback to help swimmers and triathletes improve upon their swim technique.  Seeing stroke flaws on video is a great way to understand stroke mechanics and how to swim faster and more efficiently.  Each participant will be filmed from multiple angles underwater and above the water.  You can expect time in the water and time viewing the videos with your coach.

You will receive a copy of your video in addition to written feedback to take home.

Group Pool Swim Coaching

Train for fitness, for a triathlon, an open water swim, or any other competition.  Pool workouts are held on an ongoing year-round basis.  Location times and schedule may vary by season, but click below for our most updated schedule.

Our participants come in all ages, abilities, and experience levels.  Only prerequisite is that you should be able to complete a 25 meter lap of the pool without stopping.  Prior to that, we recommend “Private Lessons.”

Kids under 14 years old must have a parent on deck to supervise.

La Jolla Swim Camp

Join us for a challenging and exhilarating open water experience as we swim and explore one of the most idyllic settings on the Pacific Coast.

Our La Jolla Swim Camp will feature daily open water training sessions at the world-famous La Jolla Cove – arguably the “Mecca” of open water swimming on the West Coast. Training sessions will be customized to meet the needs of virtually any skill level – from the novice swimmer who can demonstrate some fundamental swim skills to the advanced competitor with an extensive open-water resume.

Highlights will include multiple daily ocean swims, a pool workout with skills workshop and an open water clinic lead by world-renowned marathon swimmer and escort, Dan Simonelli. Dan is the founder of Open Water Swim Academy and veteran of HUNDREDS of successful open water marathon swim expeditions.

Spring Swim Clinics

Dates: 3/5, 3/12, 3/19, 4/2, 4/16, 5/7, 5/14

Welcome to our 2023 edition Spring Swim Clinics.  Our first 2 clinics will be “beginner” focused, working on our long axis stroke (all levels may attend the beginner clinics).  Additional clinics will work on start and turn, short axis strokes, more advanced freestyle drills, and open water focus.

7 clinic dates:

  • Sunday 3/5 10:45-12 Noon – Beginner clinic, focused on the long axis strokes.  Intro to freestyle and backstroke drills.
  • Sunday 3/12 10:45-12 Noon – Beginner clinic, designed to build on clinic #1.
  • Sunday 3/19 10:45-12 Noon – Starts and turns.  Focus on fundamentals of swimming, group swimming, intervals, and how these items will directly benefit your open water experience.
  • Sunday 4/2 10:45-12 Noon – Short axis clinic.  Intro to butterfly and breaststroke, including the process and drills to learn these strokes.
  • Sunday 4/16, 5/7 10:45-12 Noon – Intermediate long axis drills.  These 2 clinics will build upon the skills learned in clinics #1 and #2, specifically focused on improving your freestyle stroke economy/efficiency.
  • Sunday 5/14 10:45-12 Noon – Open Water Clinic in the pool.  We’ll practice sighting, starts, drafting, buoy turns, and much more.  Working on these skills early in the season in the pool so they’ll become more intuitive in the open water.

7 clinic dates:

  • Sunday 1/8 10:45-12 Noon – Beginner clinic, focused on the long axis strokes. Intro to freestyle and backstroke drills.

Cancellation policy:

Events/Camps/Clinics: No refunds.  14 days or more prior to an event, you may defer your entry fee toward another event, minus an administrative fee.

Training: Reservations made on Pike13 may be cancelled by the swimmer greater than 2 hours prior to the swim. Missed swims or cancelled swims within 2 hours will count toward your total swims in a given plan/package.
